The C word...
I know, it's way too early to use the C word but Christmas is getting closer so we really must!!!
Lots of you have been asking about our Weekend Craft Emporium. Dates were announced a few months ago but you lovely crafty peeps are truly gearing up for the festive season so it's too cruel to keep you in suspense! Here is some information which you might find useful...
Date: Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of December.
Time: 11 am to 4 pm (tbc)
Venue: William Morris Gallery Forest Road Walthamstow London E17
Booking details: All new designers must contact us via email with a few images and a brief description of their work. Subject to meeting our criteria you will then be added to our designer maker mailing list. Come the end of October, when bookings open, you will then receive a booking email which is done on a "first come first serve basis". Please do not ask for any special favours- we will not save you a space- as we're trying to make it as fair as possible!
Returning designer do not need to pre apply as you are already on our designer maker list!
Fees,stall allocation,etc.
Fees - are a non refundable £20 per stall to be paid by cheque and should reach us as soon as you've booked. The only way to guaranty your space is to pay for it. You have a 5 working day deadline form the day you've booked and received your confirmation email for payment to reach us otherwise it will be offered to another.
Stalls - it's a BYO table event hence the price. Tables should be no bigger then a pasting table.
Stall allocation - will be done by us so to showcase your work as best as we can! We won't be coming around setting up for you, that would be silly, but we'll place you next to other types of craft...for example if you're a jeweller you really wouldn't want to be next to 3 other jewellers would you? You'll receive a floor plan before the event so you know where you'll be but we'll be there on the day to guide you should you have any doubts.
That's it really!
Any further questions please e mail Debbie: craftguerrilla@yahoo.com

Cup cake camp...a tasty way to help!
We're definitely going to this. What a great idea and such a good cause too! Eat,bake and give generously.
Cupcake Camps have been a sweet success from Paris to New York, and finally London's inaugural Cupcake Camp will be held on Sunday, October 31st 2010.
Hosted at Camden's stylish Proud Galleries, Cupcake Camp London will be a mass-gathering of people who love to indulge in the new darling of the baking world - the cupcake. Supported by live music, activities and attractions - the focus of the day will be cupcake baking and tasting. Whether you're a professional cake baker, an enthusiastic amateur, or just someone with a sweet tooth, this event is for you.
Organiser Daisy Coole said:
"Bakers are encouraged to bring along their best creations to be judged by a fabulous panel, including the lovely ladies of Primrose Bakery - Martha Swift and Lisa Thomas. "We also need lots of non-bakers to drop into the event and raise money by eating the best cupcakes our capital city has to offer."
The lovely Primrose Bakery gals will be there sampling and picking the best cupcakes!!!
Cupcake Camps have ballooned in popularity since being founded last year as a tasty way to raise cash for charity. They attract anything from 250 to 1,000 participants and raise thousands of pounds for good causes.
Ms. Cupcake will also be there judging the sweet little bundles of joy which are CUP CAKES!
London's first ever Cupcake Camp will raise money for the North London Hospice, spurred by Daisy's own experience with the 'fantastic community-centered charity'. Daisy, full-time musician and sometime baker, lost her father Bob Coole to kidney failure earlier this year. She said: "A serious addiction to baking cupcakes and my connection with the North London Hospice came into my life at the same time. Dad was a patient at the hospice and the nurses were simply amazing. They were caring and supportive to my Dad and my family, offering cups of tea and a shoulder to cry on as we sat with him for up to 24 hours a day. After Dad died, baking was a huge comfort and the physicality of it was very theraputic so I went on a baking frenzy.
"When Dad died I never got to say thank you to our nurses. This is my way."
About the North London Hospice:
The North London Hospice needs at least 16,000 a day to run and has to raise as much as 80 per cent of its budget through donations. It provides in-patient and home-based palliative care, counselling services, respite care and a day activity centre, all of which is completely free of charge.

KNITTING FOR WARMING WINTER NIGHTS
Innocent drinks and Age Concern Fight the Freeze this winter
While it is the summer now, much chillier winter weather is only a few months away. Age Concern Waltham Forest is looking for volunteer knitters to create little hats that will help raise vital funds for to help local older people fight the freeze this winter.
Mini hats for innocent drinks’ bottles will be knitted by local older people and each one sold will raise 25p for Age Concern.
The hats will keep the bottles warm in chilly refrigerated cabinets and will remind people of the difficulties older people face when the temperature drops. More than 30,000 older people in England and Wales died of cold-related illnesses last winter. Some cannot afford to heat their homes as they are living on a low, fixed income.
Age Concern Waltham Forest need help to knit 8000 little hats – why not have a go? You might find one of your little hats on a bottle of Innocent Smoothies in your local Sainsbury store!
Attached is a copy of the simple pattern, should you wish to take part.
All completed hats should be received by 1st October 2010, please send them to Emma Tozer:
